8.5 Audio Setup – dSNAKE Output Patch
This screen presents the patching of the dSNAKE
remote audio outputs. These outputs have a fixed
mapping as shown here. This suits the typical
application.
The Qu mixer can detect whether an AR2412 or an
AR84 AudioRack is connected.
No AudioRack plugged into dSNAKE
The screen shows a picture of an unconnected
dSNAKE socket when no AR rack is detected.
Note - dSNAKE can connect and send outputs to the
Allen & Heath ME Personal Mixing System but Qu
does not detect the connected ME device type.
Therefore this screen will also display when a ME
device is connected.
AR2412 AudioRack plugged into dSNAKE
The screen presents a picture of the AR2412 rack
output sockets to show which Qu signals are mapped.
All 10 mixes and the main LR output can be plugged
here to feed the FOH PA and monitor amplifiers and
sends on stage.
AR AudioRack outputs are not patchable.
Note - The AR2412 EXPANDER port does not provide
audio to another AudioRack. However, it can be used
as an additional Monitor send to a ME Personal Mixing
System.
AR84 AudioRack plugged into dSNAKE
The screen presents a picture of the AR84 rack output
sockets to show which Qu signals are mapped.
Mix 1 and 2 and the main LR output can be plugged
here, for example to feed a small PA system with LR
and two monitors.
AR AudioRack outputs are not patchable.
ME Personal Mixing System plugged into dSNAKE
Press the Fn key to open the Monitor Output view. This
presents a map of the 40 ME-1 monitor channels sent
to dSNAKE.
You can plug a ME-1 mixer or ME-U hub directly into
the Qu mixer dSNAKE port, or into either or both the
AR2412 AudioRack MONITOR and EXPANDER ports.
Monitor sends are not patchable.
Mono (CH) and stereo (ST) channel sends follow the
Direct Outputs. Set the Global Direct Out source using
a channel Routing screen.
Mixes are post-processing, post-mute, post-fader.
